Red Devils go on a 30-point rain romp

RUGBY LEAGUE
Byron Bay

In conditions more suited to water polo, Byron Bay splashed home easy 30-0 winners against Casino in NRRRL at Red Devil Park on Sunday.

Rain fell for all of the match, but was torrential in the second half, leaving large pools of water on the playing surface and it was so dark that lights had to be turned on.

The Devils were never really troubled by Casino, with centre Michael Chapman and winger Bill Lowrie each scoring two tries.

Other tries were scored by Dean Allen and Eli Colby, with Duane Cahill kicking three goals.

Best for the Devils were Ben Webber, Dallas Hood and Chapman.

In reserve grade, the Bay won 52-4, with the under 18s going down 20-12.
