Rams finish with win

It hasn’t been a great season for the Byron Bay Rams, but they finished on a high note with a 3-0 home win against Pottsville last weekend.

Yantra Whitling opened the scoring for the Rams with a 30-metre shot, and Sam Owens and Tom Ruhl completed the scoring with a goal each in the second half.

It left the Rams in seventh on the table.

The game also saw coach Peter Ware announce his retirement.

The Bangalow Bluedogs, after four years in the top grade, finished with a scoreless draw against Italo Stars – and the wooden spoon – and will be relegated to the first division next season.
