LAST Saturday saw the Byron Bay Rams travel to Casino for Round 12 of the Football Far North Coast Premier League competition. A depleted Rams squad saw quite a few players stepping up for both matches.
The Byron Reserves started the day well for the Rams with a comfortable five goals to one win.
It was a similar result in Premier division with the Rams' dominance resulting in a fine 6-0 win.
The scoring was opened when evergreen Bruce Morhaus turned on a fine pass and drilled the ball into the net.
Soon after, Sebastian Bell broke away from the half way mark to outpace the Casino defence and calmly put the ball away.
The Rams played a slick passing game with George Martin, Herick Schuenemann, Sam Owens and Layton Barton controlling the game.
The third goal from George Martin followed a great interchange of passes by the Rams and a clinical finish that gave the Casino goalkeeper no chance.
Barton finished the scoring before the break with a tap in from a Sam Owens cross. The second half saw further chances put away by Bell and Barton to finalise another comfortable win to the Rams and another clean sheet for the defence. Best for the Rams in a dominant performance were George Martin, Sebastian Bell, Lucas O'Donnell, Layton Barton and James Tomlinson.
The win puts the Rams second on the table, five points behind Thistles with a game in hand. Next week the Rams will meet Rovers at Rovers. Reserves kick off at 1pm and the Prems at 3pm.
