Raiders sack Blake Ferguson after two weeks without pay

THE Canberra Raiders board has sacked centre Blake Ferguson following a series of indiscretions.

Ferguson, who had two years to run on his contract, did not front this morning's board meeting which lasted an hour at Canberra Stadium.

The Raiders will make an official announcement this afternoon.

The club had made it clear he needed to attend the board meeting if his career at the club was to be saved.

Ferguson had not be seen at the Raiders for almost two weeks and had been suspended by the club without pay.
