Rabbitohs halves will be up to the task, says Maguire
RABBITOHS coach Michael Maguire believes his halves combination of Luke Keary and Cody Walker will fire against the Eels at ANZ Stadium tomorrow night, despite only winning two NRL games together.
The pair linked up in the season-opener and went on to play the next five games, winning only against fellow strugglers Manly and Newcastle.
Adam Reynolds and Greg Inglis are on respective Blues and Maroons duties, with Keary and Walker to come together for the first time since round six.
“I reckon they’ll be great. I’m very excited,” Maguire said. “They’ve had some experiences together so they basically fit straight in there for Adam and Greg.”
Alex Johnston moves to fullback with Walker shifting to five-eighth.
“It’s something he (Johnston at fullback) really enjoys and he has shown some good form there so I don’t think Walker shifting to six will affect the flow of the team,” Maguire said.
