Queue of southbound traffic on Pacific Hwy after accident

THE importance of taking extra care on the roads when it's wet was evident near Park Beach Plaza this morning.

Southbound traffic heading towards Coffs Harbour was held up as emergency crews rushed to an accident just before the turnoff ramp to the Arthur St/Mastrocolas Rd roundabout.

Early reports reveal a P-Plate driver spun out as the black Suzuki was making it's way down the hill before crashing into the concrete divider.

One lane of traffic was closed as ambulance officers tended to the driver. Other than being clearly shaken by the incident, the driver appeared not to have suffered any injuries.

The scene is currently being cleared with tow truck drivers on hand to remove the vehicle and open up the Highway again.
