Proposal to install pop-up urinals met with mixed reaction

POP-up urinals have been suggested as a bizarre solution to breaking the bad habits of drunken men in Sydney's party precinct.

A $500,000 proposal to install urinals, similar to those found in UK, around Sydney's CBD was met with mixed reaction in a city council meeting this week.

According to News.com.au, Liberal councillor Edward Mandla dismissed the urinals as "open-air disgusting things" that encouraged men to break the law by exposing themselves in public.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore reportedly said that while they were not attractive, they were "very useful in collecting urine".

The proposal remains before council.
