Preview of finals coming in last round of the NBL

WITH one round to go before the NBL finals, this weekend's match-ups may give a big insight into what will happen once the playoffs start.

The two top sides, Cairns and the New Zealand Breakers, both have 20-7 records this season, and top position and home-court advantage in the finals will go on the line when they clash in Auckland on Sunday afternoon.

The teams that will finish third and fourth, Perth and the Adelaide 36ers, are both on 15-11 and the winner of their clash in Adelaide tonight will have a foot in the door to grab third spot.

The 36ers - the form team of the competition, having won 11 of their past 12 outings - back up against the Hawks in Wollongong on Sunday, and Perth returns home to host Townsville.

Adelaide's stunning late-season run has coincided with the return of centre Brock Motum (pictured).

NBA side Utah cut him from its roster last November.
