Postponed youth event is on this Saturday

Byron Shire Council’s postponed Make Waves Youth Week event at Mullumbimby pool is now set down for this Saturday from 6pm to 10pm.
Council’s youth development officer, Rita Youssef-Price, said despite the event being postponed, organisers were determined to put on a fabulous night for other Byron Shire youth.
"It was an obvious decision to cancel last week’s event when many of us were actually flooded in, but hard when Saturday came and it looked like it was clearing,” Ms Youssef-Price said.
"We’re sticking with the same program, only the date will be different.
“The timing is tight with the swimming season ending soon, but we think it’s great that it’s fallen within the school holiday period.
“The night is going to be full of great youth performances, fabulous door prizes and of course the inflatable obstacle course that has become a great feature of this season’s swimming at Mullumbimby pool.”
The event is for young people aged between 12 and 18 years and it’s all free.
