Police find 'no offences' in alleged attempted abduction

9:30PM: POLICE have not been able to verify the attempted abduction of a child this afternoon near Glenmore Primary School.

A Queensland Police Spokesperson tonight said police investigations found there were no offences regarding the reported incident.

8.30PM: POLICE have been interviewing the child involved in the alleged abduction in North Rockhampton earlier today.

A further update on this incident was expected about 7.30pm but was still not available at 8pm.

4.30PM: POLICE are looking for a vehicle believed to be linked to an attempted child abduction in north Rockhampton this afternoon.

Reports indicate police are looking for gold colour Ford Falcon, more than 10 years old.

It is believed the driver of the vehicle is a scruffy-looking male and there was a second person in the vehicle.

It is believed the incident took place somewhere near Glenmore State School just after 3pm.

3.20pm: POLICE are responding to reports someone tried to drag a child into a vehicle near a north Rockhampton school.

Initial reports indicate the child has run to a nearby residence and asked for help.
