Police release the name of man killed at Banora Point

THE 84-year-old man killed in Monday's fatal accident at Banora Point was Kevin Marshall, according to Tweed Police.

Mr Marshall lived at Southern Cross St Martha's Apartments in Banora Point.

He died just metres from the front door of his aged care home on Leisure Dr, after a trip to Banora Point Shopping Centre.

Just after 6pm on Monday Mr Marshall was crossing Leisure Dr in Banora Point when he was struck by a Toyota Tarago van travelling east, critically injuring him.

It is understood Mr Marshall attempted to cross the road about 60m from a pedestrian crossing.
