Kids hospitalised after drug raid
UPDATE: NINE police officers, as well as two children, were taken to hospital after potential exposure to phosphine gas, an odourless and potentially deadly gas, at Toowoomba last night.
Officers from the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team attended the scene of a drug lab in West St and detected traces of phosphine gas.
Medical treatment was sought for all potentially exposed to the gas, including nine police officers, two women, two men, a young girl and a baby. All were subsequently deemed not to be suffering from any health issues associated with the gas.
Police arrested and charged two men, aged 61 and 24, as well as a 36-year-old woman with producing dangerous drugs and exposing a child to danger from unlawful manufacturing.
The 24-year-old man was also charged with fail to dispose of syringes and possess things for use in the commission of an offence.
All three are due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
