PM booed after Murray points him out after Wimbledon win

DAVID Cameron was met by boos today after Andy Murray highlighted his presence during his victory speech for his second Wimbledon title.

The embattled Prime Minister was among a number of high-profile figures in the Royal Box at Wimbledon who watched Murray storm to victory on the Centre Court, and his presence was not missed by the Scottish tennis champion.

"Legends up there watching, it's a pleasure to play in front of you. The Prime Minister of the country here as well," he said, before the crowd began booing.

Murray added: "I think playing in a Wimbledon final is tough but I certainly wouldn't like to be a Prime Minster, it's an impossible job."

The 29-year-old met by a raucous clapping and cheering crowd as he stepped onto the court to face Milos Raonic in the men's final today. After his victory, a tearful Murray paid tribute to his team and family.

"My family who are watching up there, I love all of you, thank you."
