Players give grass court thumbs up

A Byron Bay Bowling Club green which was turned into a grass tennis court on Sunday got the thumbs up from Mullumbimby’s Stephen Gort and the Gold Coast’s Chris Letcher, who played an exhibition match in front of an appreciative crowd on Sunday afternoon.

The exhibition was organised by the club in conjunction with the Cavanbah Tennis Club to raise money for Gort to compete at the Mildura Grand Tennis International in February.

The tournament attracts Australia’s best players and internationals who compete for world ranking points, $50,000 prizemoney and competition experience.
