Plans for Bluesfest 2011 underway

After a successful Bluesfest 21st birthday celebration at its new home at Tyagarah this year, planning for the mega-music festival for 2011 is in full swing.

The 22nd annual Bluesfest event will take place over five days between April 21 and April 25.

The first announcement of artists for Bluesfest 2011 will take place within six to eight weeks.

Gaynor Crawford from Bluesfest said fans could expect that Australia’s internationally renowned music festival would present another exciting, trademark blend of big stars, exciting newcomers, contemporary songwriters, cult heroes, soul legends, roots, folk and country rock, hip-hop party bands, dazzling world music and much more.

Pre-earlybird tickets are on sale to members only.

Membership is free, and you can join at bluesfest.com.au

For the fourth year in a row, Bluesfest has been recognised as an international winner in The Greener Festival awards – a tribute to the event’s long-term commitment to environmental sustainability.

Bluesfest has also picked up a silver award in the Major Festivals and Events category in the North Coast Tourism Awards.

It also has been nominated as a finalist in the Australian Event of the Year awards in two categories: Best Cultural or Arts Event and Best Achievement in Sustainability.
