Plan aims to keep stars in the NRL

NRL chief executive David Smith has developed a plan to keep the NRL's biggest stars playing rugby league, and avoid losing them to more attractive deals in other football codes.

His proposed "central contracts" give Smith the power to offer the league's top players a top deal if they express interest in switching codes.

It sounds like a good idea, but may give players an opportunity to scam their way to a bigger pay packet.

Do you think the NRL’s central contracts are a good idea?
