Truckies rate highway 'the worst'
TRUCK drivers have named the Pacific Highway Australia's worst highway in a survey undertaken by McColl's Transport.
“More than a third of our truck drivers believe the Pacific Highway is the worst in the country, closely followed by the Newell and Sturt highways,” McColl's chief executive Simon Thornton said.
He said the federal and relevant state governments needed to take action to improve the Pacific Highway which was rated poorly by drivers because of its condition and heavy congestion.
“I urge the federal and relevant state governments to consider this feedback and acknowledge improvements need to be made,” he said.
McColls drivers named the Hume Highway as Australia's best with the M7 and the Murray Valley Highway voted second and third best in the nation respectively.
