Highway open again at Ewingsdale after St Helena crash

UPDATE 2.30pm: BOTH lanes of traffic are again flowing at Ewingsdale after a crash at the bottom of the St Helena hill.

At Bulahdelah, where there was a crash involving a car towing a caravan, the Traffic Management Centre reports the northbound lane of traffic has now reopened.

Stop/slow conditions remain in place at Kundabung after a truck crash on the highway there.

2.15pm: THE Pacific Highway has been closed in both directions at Ewingsdale after a crash near the St Helena hill.

Few details about the crash are available at the moment, but the Transport Management Centre says it has been closed while fire crews clean up a fuel spill.

Today's incident comes only weeks after a multi-vehicle crash killed a woman at roughly the same spot.

It is also one of three crashes on the highway today.

The Transport Management Centre says another crash at Bulahdelah involving a car towing a caravan had forced the closure of the highway.

Another crash at Kundabung had forced traffic control measures and the highway would need to be completely closed when a crane arrived to remove a truck involved in the crash. Motorists were being advised to head up the New England Highway as an alternative.
