SOUTH African expats Lynn and Tony hoped to create a feeding frenzy tonight on My Kitchen Rules.
But the night didn't go their way.
The married window cleaners had a rough night in the kitchen.
Their entrée lacked the Peri Peri spice promised on the menu and then their guests were forced to since songs from The Lion King to entertain themselves as they waited more than two hours for the main course.
"I want what you eat," judge Colin Fassnidge said.
"Unfortunately the cut of meat is dry. There was depth of flavour in the sauce, really nice sauce."
When their money bag dessert went wrong it was the final straw for Lynn, who came to tears when she served up the deconstructed dish.
"I know there's been a drama," Colin said.
"But I've got a dish. Well the dish I got wasn't too bad. The filo was crunchy… I got my fig and I got enough marscapone to sort of clear the palate.
"Hands up to you guys tonight, you battled through and that's what it's about. It's not always perfect food. It's about passion and not giving up.
"We've gone out better than we started and that's what it's about."
Lynn and Tony now sit at the bottom of the leader board with three teams still to cook.
Melbourne flat mates Jane and Emma will host their instant restaurant tomorrow night.
