Accused online predator nabbed using chat site

AN ACCUSED online predator allegedly pursued a woman on an adult chat site in the hope they would have sex with her 11-year-old daughter.

Sex crime detectives, masquerading as a 35-year-old woman with a child, set up an online profile as part of a major investigation into adult social networking sites earlier this year.

From his home in the rural NSW town of Coonabarabran, a 42-year-old man allegedly made a number of sexually explicit comments and set up a meeting with the belief he would be engaging in sexual activity with the woman and her daughter.

Detectives arrested the man at a hotel in Parramatta on Thursday.

His phone allegedly contained child abuse material.

He was charged with using a carriage service for child pornography, incitement to commit sexual offence and possession of child abuse material.
