NORTH Byron Parklands and Splendour in the Grass are asking their online followers to sign a petition for NSW Government to modify its noise requirement to the site and to allow smaller events to be held at the precinct.

On an email sent to their patrons and subscribers, Splendour in the Grass detailed the petition's scope.

"An area that we are still working on is sound management. Last year some of the local residents experienced issues with bass noise from the event. North Byron Parkland's noise limits are not currently consistent with other similar venues around the country so we want to fix that!"

Music? Yes. Environment? No

Splendour, Falls could get louder and residents aren't happy

"North Byron Parklands have just submitted a request to the NSW State Government to allow us to run our stage sound levels in accordance with all other NSW outdoor events."

"The changes applied for will mean a greater and clearer festival experience for you and happier neighbours!
Plus we've had loads of requests from local schools and community groups wanting to use the site for small events, but at the moment North Byron Parklands planning permission doesn't allow this."

"Included in their submission is also a request to host small-scale community events that will provide exciting opportunities for local groups to utlise (sic) this stunning patch of land with all of its world-class facilities."

The email prompts people to click a link to a page titled Splendour and Falls Need Your Support and back the initiative.
