Show celebrates 125 years

THE North Coast National's 125th anniversary theme of Looking Forward, Looking Back reflects how shows have adopted a contemporary twist.

Produce will be exhibited in the Fine Arts Pavilion at the showground, as is tradition, while next door the inaugural Northern Rivers Regional Food Celebration will dish it up as produce is showcased from paddock to plate.

Cattle in the Led Steer Competition will be judged On the Hoof and auctioned to local butchers, before being judged On the Hook.

And, in keeping with the growing trend toward home cooking, a local butcher will present From Nose to Tail, a workshop on how best to use every cut of meat.

There will also be Cooking Locally and Seasonally with garden guru Phil Dudman, a School Masterchef Cook-off and a daily Northern Rivers Food Menu available for visitors to sample the region's finest.
