THE first time I encountered feng shui was a fun workshop I undertook in Hong Kong. Outlining the ancient principles in simple terms, it was revealed I had my dirty laundry basket in my "love corner." It said a lot and I've since enjoyed implementing some of the basic, common sense principles into my home.
In essence, feng shui promotes the clear movement of energy in a given space as well as promoting good sense on cleanliness and wellbeing. Following are some basic feng shui tips that are easy to implement in your home:
Remove all clutter and rubbish, as well as stale odours from every room in your home for clarity of mind and good health.
Repair any taps that may be leaking as this suggests gradual loss of income.
Keep your toilet lid closed when not in use for health and again to deter any leaking.
Keep passageways and walkways free of clutter to ensure the best flow of energy in your home.
Healthy plants, fresh flowers, fragrant candles and music attract positive energy and lift your spirits.
Keep your garden beautiful to entice any growth opportunities.
Ensure you have a good supply of fresh air circulating in your home.
Avoid sleeping near any electronics as they can emit energy fields.
Try to face your bed to the rising sun.
