Nine Lives designers bring back the '70s

NINE Lives Bazaar is what years of being addicted to op-shopping looks like. The fashion label with a 1970s soul is the love child of best mates Rose Sadleir and Vanessa Satchwell.

"We had both amassed a pretty impressive collection of vintage clothes in our garages," Rose said.

"We decided these pieces needed to find a new home where they could be loved, so we started peddling our wares at the local Village Markets under the banner Nine Lives Bazaar." But it wasn't long before the pair's thrift-store supply dwindled.

"They say the best ideas are the ones that solve a problem, so we decided to take matters into our own hands and create a range of clothing that was wholeheartedly inspired by the 1970s ... except this time around we wanted to make sure they felt a little softer and fit a whole lot better," Rose said.

Nine Lives' latest collection, Harlequin Jewel, received a staggering response when it was launched last week.

"In less than one week we sold more than a third of the collection. Inspired by 1970s wallpaper, it's a strikingly rich range that's complete with bold cuts and vivid colourways," Rose said.

"Life is far too beautiful for boring clothes!"
