Newman Government has 'nothing to hide'

DEPUTY Premier Jeff Seeney says the Newman government has "nothing to hide" from a Clive Palmer-led Senate inquiry into the State Government.

Mr Palmer on Tuesday gained Labor and The Greens support for the wide-ranging inquiry into the state's finances, development approvals and the judiciary.

Mr Seeney told the ABC on Wednesday that the inquiry was simply a "political stunt based on the fact that Clive Palmer didn't get the sweetheart deal" he wanted.

He further said that the only LNP donor who had ever sought "rule-bending" from the Newman government was Mr Palmer, and the state would not bend the rules for him.

"I am pleased to answer your questions or questions from any journalist in Australia on any day about any subject," Mr Seeney said.

The unprecedented inquiry was tasked by the Senate, under protestations from senior Coalition figures, to examine the State Government, with a reporting date "on or before" the coming March state election.
