YOU'D think Kevin Rudd would know his way around sharp instruments by now, but a Twitter post from the PM this morning suggests he doesn't.

After being knifed during his first run as Prime Minister, then wielding a fine political sword to force a return to the top, he tweeted this morning that he had cut himself while shaving.

"Note to self: when rushing out the door in the morning, make sure you take care with the razor," Mr Rudd tweeted.

Along with the message he tweeted a picture, as living proof.

Clearly he wants to get the message out to all Australians that he is just like the rest of us.

Of course the question remains, did he really cut himself or was he held down by minders who inflicted the blade in an attempt to get in touch with the common man?
