New bus for youth

A new bus service has been launched by the UNCLE Project to make it easier for youth to get around the Byron Shire.

On Saturday mornings, young people can catch a bus from Federal, Goonengerry or Mullumbimby to Byron Bay and then catch it back home again later in the day at a cost of $5 for the round trip.

UNCLE Project chief executive, Mark Gasson, said the new service gave young people more independence and would reduce the dangers associated with hitch-hiking.

The bus service is supported by the Bat Bus service.
