Byron/Brunswick netballers’ big win in Sydney
NETBALL is thriving in the north of the Shire with the Byron/Brunswick under 13's Netball team claiming the State Age Championships last weekend in Sydney.
The Association sent 2 teams to Sydney for the championship tournament with their Under 14's finishing 7th out of 19 teams.
"After 18 gruelling games across three days the Under 13's team had only one loss to come out on top," said Janine Burger, secretary of Brunswick Byron Netball Association.
"Congratulations to Bella, Chloe, Alice, Jordan, Taniesha, Freya, Monica, Gracie and Kasey and Coach Sue Keough."
"Congratulations also to the Under 14's for their strong showing at the tournament.
"Three weeks ago the Under 17's also played in the State Championships and came 6th out of 23.
"All our girls played really well and showed great sportsmanship, representing Brunswick Byron Netball Association with pride.
"A big thank you must also go to the coaches, managers, primary carers and supporters for help making these Championships amazing."
