Name change for coast patrol

The Byron Bay Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol is no longer. Like all the other coastal patrols in NSW, it is now under the umbrella of Marine Rescue NSW.

And to go with the change of name to Marine Rescue Cape Byron is a change of uniform, with local members receiving their new shirts and shorts last week.

Marine Rescue Cape Byron, which is based in the lighthouse precinct, is looking for new members to be trained as radio operators.

Training is one night a week over eight to 10 weeks.

Anyone interested can call the radio room on 66808417 or 0403927656.
