Woman burns to death in London street

A YOUNG woman has died after she was found on fire in the streets in south-west London this morning.

Emergency services responded to reports of a woman, believed to be about 18 years old, burning on a level crossing at West Barnes Lane in New Malden.

Firefighters extinguished the fire but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said she had suffered burns to every part of her body.

They are treating her death as unexplained and have launched an investigation with the fire brigade.
