Must-have apps make life easier

WHETHER you want to know the name of the song on the radio, find out the best day to fall pregnant or hunt down an iPhone thief, the only tool you need is your smartphone.

In this technologically-driven society, it seems there is an app for everything and everyone has one they can't live without.

And while there are some unusual applications that will soothe you to sleep, double as a baby monitor or instruct you on how to deliver CPR, it appears there's no going past the basics.

The Daily News asked its readers what their cannot-live-without-it app was, with Facebook, flashlights and internet banking some of the favourites.

Shazam, the app that can tell you what song you are listening to literally in one second, is another must-have.

David Lewington said he couldn't go past the PocketWeather app.

"It can actually pinpoint you so you can tell how far a storm or adverse weather is from you," he said.

"And of course, Candy Crush - how better to waste your valuable time."
