Musical siblings pour hearts and souls into debut album

A BROTHER and sister duo from Rockhampton have poured their hearts and souls into their debut album.

Dan and Hannah Acfield have spent the past eight months writing songs to go on to their album.

With Dan living in Brisbane and his sister Hannah in Melbourne, they've written songs individually and put their talent of writing together every opportunity they could.

And now they've started recording 11 of their songs.

The siblings even decided to give the album a warm and organic feel, by recording it in a holiday home in the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.

"Friends lent us their amazing holiday house, which was quite conducive to recording with wood walls and a mini grand piano," Hannah said. "Being in a recording studio can put a bit too much pressure on things; so we decided to record this album a bit differently."

And the duo are proud of the music they've created so far.

"The songs on the album vary, but it's that real folk story telling," Hannah said.

The album features an array of instruments, from acoustic guitar, the ukulele, piano, drums and even the flute.

"You might get an idea while recording, like putting flute into a song where we had never thought of before."

Dan, 30, and Hannah, 28, both set time aside from their jobs to record their album; but need help to finish the process.

They've launched a campaign on the website pozible.com.

Unfortunately, the link to their personal campaign is not currently working. This story will be updated with the correct link later.
