Murder trial jury tours the kill scene

THE jury in a double-murder trial has toured the crime scene where two young men were stabbed to death.

Luke Michael Jackson and Zachary Michael Moloney have pleaded not guilty to killing Brandon Matthews, 18, and Brad Girling , 22, during a street fight in Ipswich in January, 2012.

Mr Jackson and Mr Moloney have been on trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court this week.

The jury visited the crime scene in North Ipswich yesterday afternoon where a memorial adorns a telegraph pole.

The court has heard Mr Matthews and Mr Girling were at a friend's house on Hill St on January 7, 2012, when their friend - and Mr Moloney's former girlfriend - got a call from Mr Moloney and Mr Jackson asking for a $50 loan.

Mr Matthews and Mr Girling allegedly got on the phone to Mr Moloney and Mr Jackson to voice their disapproval.

While Mr Moloney's ex-girlfriend secretly agreed to meet Mr Moloney and Mr Jackson on the street, her friends spotted the meeting, intervened and the fatal fight ensued, the court was told. The trial continues.
