Alstonville blogger only Australian in BlogHer top 100 list

AN ALSTONVILLE woman broke into internet stardom after her blog was picked for a top 100 blogs list out of 2600 nominees.

Local mother of two and writer Zanni Louise has been listed as one of the top 100 Voices of 2013 by BlogHer, the largest international blog network for women - it has 92 million visitors each month.

On My Little Sunshine House, formerly Heart Mumma, Zanni writes predominantly about parenting and personal experiences, mixed with lifestyle.

BlogHer selected her post, The Incident of the Passionfruit Vine: On Smacking Children as one of the top 100 Voices for 2013 among 25 in the opinion/education category.

She is the only Australian blogger in the list.

Zanni began blogging to explore creative writing for pleasure when her eldest daughter Elka, now 2 1/2 , was just 9 months old.

She said she was very "surprised" and "amazed" to find she had made the list, having all but forgotten about the nomination.

"It was a really great honour - in my little blogging world, it's huge!" she said.

The news had come at a great time as she had been really questioning her writing and its direction.

The news of the top 100 list gave her the motivation and sense of validation to keep doing her thing online.

She writes educational material professionally and is writing books for children.

She has recently been the feature writer for Mumgo, a leading retail website for mothers, and had her work featured on the Wordpress home- page last year.

Zanni loves the outlet of blogging, as it can be a more personal and conversational form of writing and doesn't have as many strict guidelines as other forms of writing tend to do.

"(And) just being part of a community is fun," she said of the blogging world that exists online.
