MP pushes for statement so Adani can move forward

FOLLOWING the announcement Adani had halted its engineering works, Federal Member for Dawson George Christensen urged the state government speed up the delivery of its environmental impact statement to federal government.

Adani is waiting for the verdict of the statement before it moves forward with its mine, rail and port project.

"You can understand that Adani has been severely tested by this process as they have already been through two approval processes, and when Labor scraped into power with the election in January, they had to begin a third approval process," Mr Christensen said.

At the same time, The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) called on Adani to "stop trying to bully" the state government to rush through approvals.
