Mourinho cops FA charge after send-off

FOOTBALL: No wonder Jose Mourinho is a frustrated man.

The 53-year-old has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association after being sent to the stands during Manchester United's 1-1 draw with West Ham United.

It is the third time this season the 53-year-old Portuguese has been punished by the FA - he was suspended for a game and fined after an altercation with referee Mark Clattenburg and received a hefty fine for criticising the appointment of another referee.

Now he faces an almost definite touchline ban after he got his marching orders in the first-half at Old Trafford for kicking a bottle of water on the touchline as he was angered by Jon Moss booking Paul Pogba for diving.

The result left United on 20 points after 13 matches - their worst start to a league campaign since the 1989-90 season - and 11 points adrift of his old club Chelsea.

Mourinho has now been sent off as many times as he's won league games at Old Trafford for United.

United hasn't won at home in the league since its 4-1 thrashing of defending champion Leicester on September 24.

The Red Devils have just 18 league goals this season from 13 games. Liverpool, by contrast, has 32.

United has had a remarkable 91 shots in its last four home games, but it's found the back of the net just three times in total. Of its 161 shots so far this season, just 75 have been on target.
