Morris flies high to bring up hundred

DRAGONS flier Brett Morris needs just one more try to join his father Steve on 102 after notching a double, including a contender for try of the year, in his team's 14-12 win against the Sharks.

Morris became just the third player to pass the century mark for the joint-venture club, joining Nathan Blacklock (100) and Matt Cooper (124).

Steve Morris scored 102 tries for St George in the 1970s and '80s.

Brett's first came after just five minutes, but it was his gravity-defying effort in the shadows of half-time (pictured), leaping above opposite number Jonathon Wright before contorting his body in mid-air and touching down centimetres inside the dead-in-goal line, that drew high praise from Cronulla interim coach Peter Sharp.

"It was great ... it was an opportunity and he scored it," Sharp said.

"He's an outstanding player. He kills us every year, he's world class."
