Model chooses a serious fundraiser for ill children

SHELBY Peters has always wanted to reach for the stars in her career.

The former Grafton model, now based on the Gold Coast with Reeder Model Management, is a Queensland finalist in the Miss Galaxy Australia Pageant.

"I had been doing a lot of modelling competitions on the coast, but I thought it was time to move on to something a bit serious," said Miss Peters.

"This competition has already given me great confidence, and opened up a lot of doors in my career."

There is a serious side to the pageant, with Shelby raising money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

"I've been running fund

raisers on the Coast, and have joined up with the Gold Coast chapter of Make-A-Wish," said Miss Peters.

"But it's a great cause, and to be able to help seriously ill children is such a great feeling."

The competition finals are in April next year, and donations are able to be made at: https://give.everydayhero.com/au/miss-galaxy-finalist-shelby-peters.
