The model, the boyfriend and the man on drug charges

A MAN arrested alongside a former Sydney model and her boyfriend claims he feared for his life and was not involved in a plan to sell a kilogram of cocaine.

Peter Marcello Biviano, 39, is on trial in Darlinghurst District Court in Sydney charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of cocaine in partnership with socialite Kirsty Dayment, 35, and her former boyfriend Nicholas Riganias, 31, in 2015.

Biviano, who was good friends with Riganias, today gave evidence that he regularly visited the pair at their eastern suburbs apartment because he owed Riganias more than $20,000 which was lent to him to try to keep his failed restaurant afloat.

He told the court he was giving Riganias between $500 and $1500 cash a week in repayments for the loan but he could not pay off the debt because he had a drug problem and Riganias would give him drugs and add it to his debt instead of asking him for cash.

The trio were arrested on July 31, 2015, in Coogee, with Biviano telling the court he was arrested as he made his way back to his car after visiting Dayment at the couple's Coogee apartment, where he gave her $1200 in cash.
