Byron Miniball nets a star coach

BYRON Bay Basketball has announced the appointment of Nash Campbell as its Miniball development co-ordinator. Campbell is a product of the US high school basketball system, in which he led his team to the state championships as the most valuable player.

He then played extensive representative basketball in the US before accepting a basketball scholarship, playing college basketball in the NCAA. He also played at an elite level in Australia and Japan.

The structured Miniball program begins on February 5. Campbell will be supported by a team of experienced coaches, including Matt Ogle, a committed coach of junior basketball.

Association vice-president Robert Ashdown said: "We're excited with the popularity of basketball at the sports complex and are keen to do all we can to nurture the game the youth of our community enjoy so much."
