‘Mind-blowing’ community effort

Last Saturday’s T-Fest fundraiser at Red Devil Park for Byron Bay’s Troy ‘Jacko’ Jackson, who is battling pancreatic cancer, was a ‘mind-blowing’ local community effort, according to organisers.

While final counting is to be completed, it is expected more than $45,000 will be handed to Troy to help cover the costs of his fight.

“It was a massive day and a massive effort,” said one of the organisers.

“Everything ran well and everyone had a fantastic time,”

“It has made such a huge difference for him. The response from his local community has made him feel 100 per cent on what he was feeling.

“The whole community was represented there.

“It shows what an unbelievably strong community Byron Bay is.”
