Margot Robbie lands another huge role

MARGOT Robbie's star just continues to rise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 26-year-old old has signed on to play the lead role of Maid Marian in a new movie.

The film will take place after the death of Robin Hood, with Maid Marian deciding to carry on her lover's work by leading her people into war.

The movie will be called Marian and it's not the only Robin Hood-related project in the works at the moment.

Taron Egerton, who starred in Kingsman: The Secret Service and Eddie The Eagle, and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx are currently filming Robin Hood: Origins.

They'll play Robin Hood and Little John respectively in the film, which set to be released next year.

That project is completely separate to Robbie's upcoming movie.

The Aussie actress, who used to appear in Neighbours, has been hot property in Hollywood since her breakout role in 2013's The Wolf of Wall Street.

After starring in Focus, The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad, the recently married Robbie is also set to play Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, and will voice a character in the upcoming Peter Rabbit movie.
