Woman appears in court

UPDATE: THE woman accused of stabbing her defacto partner to death in Goonellabah appeared in Lismore local Court today.

Noelene Nolan, 32, was arrested at her Shearman Drive home on Wednesday after police arrived to find her partner, Darren Bolt, suffering from two stab wounds.

Ms Nolan was performing CPR on Mr Bolt when emergency services arrived at 11am but the victim was declared dead at the scene.

Ms Nolan was subsequently arrested and transported to Lismore Police Station.

She was charged with murder.

Friends and family of the accused sat in the public galley at Lismore courthouse while Ms Nolan’s matter was mentioned.

The accused appeared before the court and sat with her head down in prison greens in the dock.

Ms Nolan, represented by lawyer Hugh Van Dugteren, did not make an application for bail.

She remained in custody.

The matter will be mentioned in Lismore Local Court on June 21 and the accused will appear by audio visual link.

Woman charged with murder

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with murder following the stabbing death of a man at Goonellabah yesterday.

The woman, who is the de facto of the victim, was found attempting to give CPR to the man at the Shearman Drive property after emergency services responded to calls.

She was arrested at the scene and charged late last night, refused bail and will front Lismore Local Court this morning.

Three children - aged three, seven and 12 - were inside the home at the time of the incident and are currently being cared for by relatives.

Strike Force McColl has been formed to examine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
