Man detained at Brisbane Airport as terror suspect
A TERROR suspect was detained at Brisbane International Airport after knives were found in his luggage, along with notes that raised national security concerns.
The man, in a security photo released exclusively to The Courier-Mail, was stopped by specially trained counter-terrorism unit (CTU) officers soon after arriving from Africa.
The Customs and Border Protection CTU officers picked him out from hundreds of passengers, asking him questions during an intervention on June 12.
Not satisfied with his responses, they deemed him to be a potential risk, moving him to a secluded interview area to search his luggage.
Sources confirmed officers found a knife concealed in a credit card, a knuckle duster and a push-button knife.
