Man charged with manslaughter after bashing victim dies

A BASHING victim has died in a northern NSW hospital and his alleged attacker charged with manslaughter following a fight near Port Stephens last week.

A 28-year-old man was found with critical injuries to his head and abdomen at a home in Corlette on Sunday, June 30.

He was taken to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital where he died on the weekend.

A 26-year-old Sydney man was arrested late Sunday and has since been refused bail.
