Lynn's a long way from a bash in Tests

CHRIS Lynn reckons he is a long way off getting near the Australian Test team despite earning a first call-up for the one-day international squad.

Lynn (pictured) is the top scorer in this season's Big Bash League, with 309 runs from five games, including a top score of 98 not out.

But despite his success at the shortest form of the game, the Queenslander has struggled in the Sheffield Shield, mainly due to a long-standing shoulder problem.

His target is still to pull on a baggy green cap but said he had plenty of work ahead of him.

"I think I am a long way off that (a Test place), to be fair,” Lynn said.

"I think I have played about 10 Shield matches in the past couple of years, so I need to get runs on the board before that happens.”

Lynn got the call-up after smashing 26 sixes in five Big Bash League matches for the Brisbane Heat this season, including a record-tying 11 in his unbeaten 98 against the Scorchers last time out.

He says he sees no reason to change his approach just because he is set to play for his country.

"It is a one-dayer and there's a good crowd and everyone is buzzing still,” Lynn said.

"And you've got the green and gold on so there's no excuse to go down any gears.”
