Louis wins top tennis tournament

Ten-year-old Louis Clark hopes that one day he will be a professional tennis player.

And the St Finbarr’s School Byron Bay student is well on the way to his wish after winning the Medibank Junior Development Series (JDS) ‘Champions of Champions’ 10 years and under division at Inverell recently.

Louis won two matches to qualify for the final which was played against Jack Clark from Lismore.

He won 6-1 and Louis has now qualified to play in the State Titles to be held in Gosford in November.

More than 80 players participated in the Inverell tournament.

“I love tennis and want to be a professional player one day,” Louis said.

“I play four times a week and I have been playing tennis since I was about four.”

Louis is trained by coach Stephen Gort of Mullumbimby,

“I am very proud of Louis, this win is great news,” Stephen said.
