Looking South-East for fresh swell

ANOTHER week of small waves around The Shire with the north winds coming in each arvo bringing in the blueys and only a few small peaks to chase on the open beach breaks.

The surf along the open beaches have been hit with the cool water but inside The Bay has stayed toastie.

We have a south-easterly swell coming in this week that could give surfers something to get excited about. We haven't had any solid swells this year that have fired up all the point breaks, let's hope it's here now.

Some competition action that's been happening with the Byron Bay Boardriders kicking off their first round at Cosy Corner last weekend. Up the coast there has been the Tweed Coast Pro at Cabarita Beach and Boomerang Beach down the coast has the Komunity Project Great Lakes Pro on now.

There are plenty of comps to fire up the young up and coming pros to get some points for the Qualifying Series of Surfing.

Ty Watson took first place in the men's and Ren Hashimoto took out the women's at Cabarita. Check out wsl.com to see all the results.

Over in Hawaii, Soli Bailey has had a great run there and at the time to go to print, Soli has advanced to round 4. Happy days and catch you in the waves.
