THE sun was shining, the coffee was delicious and the tunes were sublime when two of the local acts announced for Falls Festival Byron, Merryn Jeann and Angie Hudson, treated patrons at the Top Shop cafe in Byron Bay to a special "unplugged" morning performance.
Merryn and Angie will join a large contingent of local Northern Rivers acts announced for Falls Byron, including Ilona Harker, Inagwa, comedian Mandy Nolan, Wharves from Byron, Lismore hip hop outfit Teddy Lewis King, DJs Crucial D and Shizzle, The Cassettes and Funky Moves dance crews and Mullumbimby's favourite Russian men's choir Dustyesky.
"The Northern Rivers region produces some of the most exciting, young, talented musicians and performers around," said Falls Byron director Brandon Saul. "We're thrilled Falls Byron can showcase the wealth of our local talent to a large audience."
"At the Top Shop we're big-time fans of Falls," said owner Charlie Gordon.
"We're so proud to have two acts from this year's line-up come sip a coffee and play a few songs."
Locals tickets (for those living from Ballina to the Queensland border, and west to Lismore) are still available at the Falls Festival website.
Only the purchaser needs to be a local (Ballina to QLD border, west to Lismore) and can purchase up to 6 tickets each.
