Lighthouse run attracts nearly 500

Close to 500 people took part in Sunday’s Byron Bay Lighthouse Run and Walk, raising nearly $13,000 for a number of worthy causes including the NSW Cancer Council.

Runners – and walkers – many from interstate, completed the course in perfect weather.

Co-ordinator of the Byron Bay Breast Cancer Support Group, Barbara Pinter, said there were well-researched links between cancer prevention and exercise.
